Our opening two minutes of our horror film is based on horror films, we need to find information on the film classification and what is allowed and suitable for 15 certified films.
I used the British Board of Film Classifications website. www.bbfc.co.uk/



 The information below is taken from the website about the 15 classification:
 
Discrimination - The work as a whole must not approve disriminatory language or behaviour.

Drugs - Drug taking may be shown but the film as a whole must not promote or encourage drug misuse. The misuse of easily accessible and highly dangerous substances such as aerosols is likely to be unacceptable.

Horror - Strong threat and menace are permitted unless sadistic or sexualised.

Imitable behaviour - Dangerous behaviour (e.g. self-harming) should not dwell on detail which could be copied.

Language - There may be a frequent use of strong language. The strongest language may be acceptable if it is justified by context. Aggressive or repeated use of strong language may not be accepted.

Nudity and Sex - Nudity may be allowed in a sexual context but without strong detail. Also sexual activity may be portrayed without strong detail. Strong references may not be acceptable unless it is justified by context.   

Violence - Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. Strongest gory images and strong sadistic or sexualised violence are unlikely to be accepted.

Theme - All themes are allowed providing that they are appropriate for 15 year olds

i wasnt there for the previous lesson my group partner filled me on on what i had missed. but in todays lesson we started our storyboard for our film opening.

on movember 1st we had to present our pitch to the teacher while we were being recorded and at the end of the pitch we were given feedback wether or not we could go forward with this idea and make a film opening to it. luckily it was accepted.

mondays lesson we learned about the 3 main parts in making of a film which are pre-production production and post production after that we started to on a pitch we had to give to the class of our film idea

our lesson on wednesday we managed to get logged on to the macs and upload the footage from the camera to the macs ready to be edited but the lesson was tken up by the uploading of all the clips we had filmed so we couldnt start editing that lesson

today in our lesson we had 2 hours 1 hour to film our prelim task and upload it to the macs and the 2nd hour to start editting it we managed to get the filming finished but when it came to uploading the footage to the macs neither of us could get signed into the macs so we went to seek the i.t techs but the guy who deal with the macs wasnt in so we couldnt get signed in and upload our footage

In our lesson on Wednesday, we watched the opening 3 minutes of the film Wrong Turn. We had to tae notes about the visual and audio techniques from the 3 minutes.

The audio effects in the opening of Wrong Turn were mainly the tempo of the music. The sounds get louder and louder as the danger gets closer.
At the beggining of the film, the music was orchestral and has a loud drumming every 10ish seconds. The most noticable instrument you hear is the violin.

The sounds in the opening minutes are much louder than they are in reality. This makes the audience jump when watching because they do not expect it to be so loud. For example, when she got the knife out to cut the rope the noise of it coming out of her bag was much louder.


There are also lots of different visual effects used in the opening minutes of the film.
At the beginning of the film, the camera shot is a birds eye shot because this shows what danger they are in because they are so high up.
Also, they use the point of view shot for example when her boyfriend is killed and the blood falls on her face, you get a close up of her face and you can tell she is terrified and that automatically makes the audience terried.

Other sots used are low and high shots when the boy gets to the top of the cliff, this tries to show he has more power than the woman because he gets to the top before her.

In our lesson today, I learnt a brief introduction to the history of horror films. Also, we have been assigned a horror film to write about in our presentation of the history of horror films. My film i was assigned was black christmas.

on monday we had a double lesson during the first lesson i learnt how to upload footage to final cut express 4 and add some basic transitions. in the second lesson i used the cameras for the first time to start filming for my priliminary task.

In our lesson yesterday, we learnt how to use the camera by a demonstration from my teacher. 
Also, in our lesson we carried on storyboarding our preliminary task.

In our lesson today, we spoke about different camera shots and angles.
For the last bit of our class, we got back into our groups and began a storyboard for our preliminary task.

my first blog

In my first lesson, i was given an introduction to the course and how to make my blog. My teacher also told me how to change the layout and how to design my blog and add widgets to make my blog more personalized.
In our next lesson we was shown how to use our school email addresses which we can send work to our teachers and ask questions if we are unsure. Also, i was shown how to make an account with SlideShare and how to put powerpoints into my posts.
For the rest of the lesson we got into groups to start to discuss our preliminary task, i am in a group with Marco Mulvey. We also was shown how to use the cameras and was gave a brief introduction to camera shots.
